Reforming Concussion Care
A little bit about Chaandani’s story from her:
A concussion brain injury completely derailed my life 6 years ago. I went from being an outgoing person who worked, had a busy social life, volunteered, had hobbies and was physically active -- to a person who could no longer remember how to make a sandwich, nor follow basic conversations with ease. On a personal note, I know the strength it takes to find acceptance while still in the fire, and what it takes internally to rebuild your life with intention. On a professional note, going through this experience allowed me to identify key gaps in service and systems that patients face, and the demand for a new path forward. I am now an educator for medical and allied healthcare concussion practitioners and am focused on leading systemic change in the delivery of concussion care.
